Ayo Adedokun is a PhD Fellow at the UNU and Maastricht University (UNU-MERIT) in the Netherlands. His PhD thesis broadly focuses on the interaction of economic development, political institutions, and civil war; and the role of international community and domestic actors in post-conflict peace building. His regional focus is sub-Saharan Africa. His research is mainly based on qualitative comparative case studies.
Prior to joining UNU-MERIT, Ayo earned a bachelor degree in political science from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He completed a Master of Philosophy in international development from Oxford University, UK, as a Clarendon Scholar. He is a member of research school at International Peace Research Institute Oslo, Norway (PRIO).
In 2014, Ayo received the prestigious World Bank Group Fellowship Program for PhD students of African descent. Ayo was also nominated as part of the World Bank, European Union and United Nations scoping mission to Ukraine on humanitarian recovery and post-conflict needs assessments (PCNAs) between September and October 2014.
