Gareth Haslam is a Ph.D. Fellow at the UNU Institute for Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) working as part of the Science and Technology for Sustainable Societies group. His research interests are on promoting new energy technologies and innovation. Prior to joining UNU-IAS, Gareth was an experimental scientist at the University of Cambridge where he undertook Ph.D. research into developing new materials for use in hydrogen fuel cells. He was born and raised in the North of Ireland.
