Praem Mehta is a water and health researcher at the UNU Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH). Originally from Kenya, Praem spent five years in Montreal working for the Migration and Reproductive Health Research Group, where she was part of a team that carried out several migrant maternal-child health studies. Prior to joining the UNU-INWEH team, Praem completed two internships within the UN system. The first was at the Convention on Biological Diversity in Montreal, where she compiled information on Aichi target number 14, focusing on ecosystem services and their contribution to health. The second was at UN headquarters in New York, where she contributed to the work being done on water and waste in the Environment Statistics Section. Praem holds a BSc in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and a MSc in Integrated Water Resources Management from McGill University.
