Ping Jiang is a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow at the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS). His research focuses on comprehensive low-carbon sustainable strategy for the urban community, which covers multidisciplinary aspects such as policies in climate change, economics, management, energy saving technologies and social behaviour. He is also looking at cost-effective approaches to establish low-carbon communities through adopting a sound, low-carbon management system. Before coming to UNU-IAS, Ping Jiang received his PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia (UK) and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Beijing Science & Technology University (China). During that time, he undertook his PhD research in the UK, and worked for the Carbon Connections Programme as a part-time project coordinator for collaborations between the University of East Anglia and Chinese universities/organizations.
